I took a year of upper divisional botany when I was in college; I wanted to learn all about 'the secret lives of plants'. I loved scientific illustration assignments and was soon singled out to do all of the department's "official" lab drawings. It was the cross sections of flowers that captured my imagination and served as the inspiration of my Botanicals.

Due to the large size of these pieces (13" in diameter), certain colors just don't work: technically or aesthetically. Yellow is too 'brittle' and fogs, so it's out, and aqua is just too pale to offer any contrast and shadow. I also offer two additional greens: Evergreen (a deeper bluish green) and Bottle Green (a deeper yellowed green).

The paler colors, Amber, Light Green, and Sky Blue will only 'work' on stands backed against a light surface or in windows with shaded light--otherwise they will 'wash out'. Windows with direct, or strong light sources, are perfect for the deeper colors.

You may order the Botanicals with a table stand or with a double hook, brass hanger. Each Botanical is made to order, there are no immediate ship colors, however, there may be some designs in stock, please inquire.
