Acer Platanoides. In the Spring, this is a tiny, yellow/green flower found in clusters. The ovary has two fused carpels, these paired 'fruits' each have a membranous 'wing' , this is called a Samara. By autumn these have grown in size and turned to a papery brown color and texture. These winged samaras take off with every gust of wind like small helicopters.
